It’s not just how you see things but how you feel about things.
Film and movies have such a power. First to say that in a world of evolving technology its easy to accept technology as just another “thing” and not give technology the full appreciation that it deserve. So how do we derail ourselves from becoming the toxic never satisfied ever consuming consumer. Well we reframe our views on things, and hey a little puff of cannabis would do wonders, that’s a guarantee.
Lets re-describe the movie experience.
You sit down in front of this screen that lights up and displays moving images. You’re sitting there viewing these “moving images” as a spectator. The film producer and director, who shot and edited the film, will take you on this journey where they show you what to see, feel and hear.
Now you have your own judgments and views that you bring in with you. But the producer and director are aware of this. They are also tapped in and knowledgeable of the current culture and what’s popular. So what do they do? They riff off of the current trends and thoughts floating around in the general consciousness of the public. Colors, sounds, images, with their representing symbols. It varies person to person and even more from culture to culture, but mostly when framed right the producers and directors get the their message across.
These people are masters at conveying and creating emotions and thoughts into the viewer. They take you along this journey. The best of them can get you so engaged that you’re lost in the film as if you’re part of it. Before film it was just novels and books. Books still have their relevance and importance, but in today’s world movies take the spot light.
Think about Vine, Instagram Stories, or Tik Toc. These platforms have showed that stories are not just essential but the way in which we understand things. How we piece together and grasp reality. Think about a painting. If the perspective and alignment is off the scene it not believable- it just looks off. Then when there is a eye grabbing piece of work we can get lost in it, because the scene is right. Seduction is an art as much as: art is seduction.
Movies do this to us, but they can hit even deeper. We can empathize with the characters. As we go through the journey we become part of it as well. So how can movies change the way we see things? Well all it takes is to be receptive. The open-mind can hear it all and believe that it see’s the grand picture, but an open heart… well it can reveal true commitment to the everything that is, with acceptance and acknowledgment. Good luck on your way to the present moment, be honest will your feelings and don’t give up yourself.
As always,
Peace and love my friends – Keep a chill warmth out there, cheers!
